Track rock has cementing properties under compaction, forming a solid, smooth and stable race surface. It is softer than blue metals, rotten rock and river gravels.
Track rock is soft and gentle on hooves, with no sharp edges. It contains high levels of calcium, essential for healthy hoove’s and will not track into shed.
Track rock is used principally for the formation of tracks and roads. Its major use is currently in dairy tracks. Other uses include all weather airstrips, silage pits, compost pads, around water troughs, gateways and stand off pads in feed lots.
